2009 Concert Update

Although the major tours for 2009 have yet to be announced, the rumor mill is in full swing as fans and bands alike build hype in the lead-up to their tour announcements. The Def Leppard/Poison tour broke through a couple weeks ago, and now it appears that Styx will be touring with REO Speedwagon and a third band. No official word is out yet, but both Styx and REO's spring tour schedules wrap up precisely on April 25, with a blank slate for the whole summer. A third band will likely join on this tour, and a third band will also be a part of the Def Leppard/Poison tour.

In other concert related news, Foreigner's PBS Soundstage performance aired last week, and it is a great thing to see this band back in action. With a new single and several TV appearances under their belt, Foreigner is kicking it into gear for 2009 with what will hopefully be their most successful tour in quite some time. The band was under the radar for nearly a decade, but appears to be staging a comeback. If you want to see clips or photos from the band's Soundstage performance, you can do so on PBS' website at this link. Also, keep an eye on the latest Foreigner tour dates on their official website. You do not want to miss one of their high energy shows! Lead singer Kelly Hansen is doing an incredible job of fronting the band, and there is great chemistry between guitarists Mick Jones, Jeff Pilson (formerly of Dokken) and Tom Gimbel on stage.

Lastly, the Moondance Jam, a rock festival held in Walker, Minnesota, will likely be making some band announcements in the near future so stay tuned!
